RJ has participated in many San Diego Artwalk shows, 2003-2007. The paintings evoked many different emotions and garnered high praise. The “Wave Series” which sold out her first year was a perfect example of transferring her actual experiences to the painting surfaces she uses. RJ resides in Oceanside, California and has travelled extensively throughout the United States, and Canada. While living in Ft Wayne Indiana, RJ was a member of the Ft Wayne Art Guild and received honorable mention in the 2010 annual show juried by Don Andrews for her painting “Midnight Sparklers”. It was here that she first honed her skills with watercolor using only a palette knife. Her painting “Escape from the cold” was featured at the annual Ft Wayne Museum of Art show. RJ participated on the Board of the NWS as Treasurer from 2011-2015, and Workshop Coordinator for the SDWS in the 1990’s. She has studied with many well-known artists, Don Andrews, Robbie Laird, Mark Mehaffey, John Salminen, and many others as she participated in their workshops over the years. "Watercolor impressionism is my focal point and what brings me the most joy"
