Simon Rodia, creator of the Los Angeles Watts Towers has influenced my visual aesthetic continuously. Rodia’s work on the Towers demonstrate his perception of broken things and his passion for reducing waste. I enjoy Rodia’s work because I also perceive the beauty in brokenness. My Mixed Media work embraces textures that form when a range of Art media come together. My goal is to develop a strong, consistent style of repurposing broken things while offering increasingly beautiful, collectible works of art.
