Barbara McDonald is a retired attorney who created a new genre of steel wall sculpture, now known as “painting with a plasma cutter.” She wields a 30,000 degree torch as a brush, creating cutting edge images of nature and fantasy. “There is something atavistic about my work. I think of iron-age humans discovering how to turn raw ore into steel. I love working with steel, seeing it come to life under heat.”
Barbara has exhibited in Southern California venues, including Cove Gallery and Art-A-Fair in Laguna Beach, and Carlsbad Art Gallery. Her works reside in private collections locally and abroad.
