Start the New Year with watercolor painting! Join Instructor Helen Shafer Garcia for the 4-week class as you focus on the techniques needed to capture light in watercolor. This is an excellent way to explore ways to achieve the correct values and color harmonies in a painting. Learn color arrangements to build transparency, negative painting, pigment mixing and glazing with compositional guidelines. Limited palettes will be the main emphasis for compositions.
Our subjects will be still life and botanical with a whimsical twist using watercolor, gouache, and acrylic. Supply list will be available upon registration. Bring whatever supplies you already have on hand to the first class. Some knowledge of basic watercolor techniques required. Please note there is an additional $15 (cash only) supply fee due at class for special papers, gesso and acrylics.
